Yeoncheon won the regular season and advanced to the championship game first, but struggled with Seongnam’s momentum beyond the playoffs and was in crisis by dropping the first and second games in a row.

However, starting from the 3rd game, they won 3 times in a row and won the championship with a ‘reverse sweep’. In a best-of-five series, the probability of winning with three consecutive wins after two losses is slim, around 10%. However, Yeoncheon overcame this and showed the potential of a regular season winning team.

Additionally, Yeoncheon created dramatic moments in each game while winning three games. They dramatically tied the score at 1-1 in the top of the 9th inning of Game 3, when defeat was in sight, and scored 5 points in the top of the 10th inning to secure a 6-2 shootout victory. In the next game 4, when the score was 2-2, he scored 5 points in the top of the 7th inning to win 12-2, and in game 5, when he was down 4-7, he scored 5 points in the bottom of the 8th inning and won 9-7. All three games were come-from-behind wins.

In the field team, the performances of ‘Eagle’ Hwang Young-mook and Lee Seong-shin stood out. Young-mook Hwang played a pivotal role by leading the team in offense and defense, and Seong-shin Lee recorded 8 RBIs during the series and showed concentration in the moment of reversal.

Also, the performance of Yeoncheon’s pitching staff cannot be left out. Sidearm Choi Jong-wan earned all three wins in the series and became the ‘series ace.’ He contributed to the win by overwhelming opposing batters with a heavy fastball and a change-up with a large drop, and Ji-yoon and Son Ho-jin led the pitching staff.

Yeoncheon has been operated with the support of Yeoncheon County Office since its founding in 2015, and achieved a unified victory with full support. In addition, the club is establishing itself in the local community as a club that fosters local baseball players who dream of becoming professional baseball players and provides community harmony and enjoyment through baseball.
